I just bought the deadpedal and installed it last weekend.

I hate to complain, but $35+ for a 50 cent piece of stamped steel from china?!
I was expecting it to at least have the rubber backing as the OEM ones do but no, this is just a cheap metal piece with 4 screws.
The product is fine for what it is, but it should cost about $15 not $35.

I used to import products for a tin/steel company based in China and I'd wager the cost on that piece is well under $1.
Hell, if you like I could call them and probably get you a better deal.

The way I see it is he did the research and had the product made... Anyone can send a blueprint to a chinese manufacturer and have these pedals made but HE did it first and is selling them for a reasonable price for his trouble. If you think its easy to do be innovative and find something you can make to add to our vehicles... If you wanted to make sure it was worth it, you should have done more research on the product before purchasing and bashing the seller.

IMO he is a great guy... My item said it was shipped and did not arrive and he immediately sent out another one.... Strutking, I have to send you a PM, the other one finally arrived so I need to know how to get the extra one back to you :).

The product cost is tied to production costs in molding, machinery, labor, shipping etc. Items may not cost much if you have a factory make tens of thousands of them every year, but there aren't enough of Civics in the world to do such a thing.

I completely understand R&D expenses, but if you've been in business any amount of time you have already recouped that expense. Typically a business might lower their cost at that point. I'm not sure what labor you are referring to since all mfg is in China.

The cost for tooling is usually lumped into your initial cost on the first order and after that you might pay a set-up but you should have a die already.

You are correct in that small runs of a product of this type is not very economical. If you ever want to to 3k+ units get in touch with me. You're probably getting raped on freight for not ganging your order with others amongst other things. I have nothing against you, you can run your business as you wish, but if I had to do it again...I wouldn't.

Where at any point did I 'bash' anyone? My whole point is that anything over $15 is not a reasonable price. Get a clue.

Good customer service.. i got the angled defouler, shifter base bushings, and shifter cable bushings. My order got mixed up and he helped me straighten it out right away. real fast shipping and answers emails right away.

The shifter cable bushings are just ok... i wish they fit snugger.. the larger ones fit better then the smaller ones.

If you were mislead in any way I would understand your frustration but you bought the item knowing exactly what it looked like... Strutking never claimed it to be manufactured in the Good ol' USA or that it was a complete replacement... In fact, if you look at the DIY's you can clearly see what you are buying... Your beef is that it was made in China but if he had some boxes made and the sticker peeled off you wouldn't have said anything. I'll leave it at that... Let the man do his business and make an honest living.:thumb:

In fact, if you think you can put the time and money out, why don't you go make 3,000 dead pedals and be his competitor at 15.00 a dead pedal :wavey:.

I love my dead pedal. It doesn't even have any scratches or dents like I knew it would have. I've had it for nearly 6 months now. A+ seller.. Quality items! +rep

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to strutking again.
