ok thanks, should we drain the oil
i'm assuming u mean he just dropped a washer while the oil cap was off... correct?? if so then there's no need to drain the oil b/c it's already sitting at the bottom of the engine (in the pan) u can take the valve cover off w/o any oil spilling out...

Ok sorry for not clearing it up, basically there was a small washer in his funnel and he noticed it last minute when he poured some oil

If you are mechanical take the head off and look for it. Be sure to have a new head gasket for it. If you aren't mechanical have it towed to the shop. It will be cheaper than the repair if Murphy joins the party and sees to it that it messes up the engine. Oh, and don't have any extra parts nearby when you add oil the next time.

the chances of the washer being small enough for it to actually go into one of the holes that leads to the block are pretty slim... not saying impossible, but slim...

Sorry, "that's some funny stuff right there" <--- Voice of Tow Mator

Tel him.

1. Don't start the car.
2.Get a telescopic magnet.(if it doesn't work see 3)
3.Pull Valve Cover (If that doesn't work , Send it in.

The washer is laying on top of the head. It could be in a valley, or caught up in a valve spring or seat. (this is why you don't start it)
