You REALLY DON'T know how much .1 can mean in a measurement of a vehicle part..

 

I still bought it and will be keeping it anyway I just wanted to make the community aware that it wasn't actually 2.5

Done deal. Very interested in what they say. My buddies pointed it out when he was complaining that I got S2 before he could get rid of his buddy club.

 

If no response from sponsor, I will call them Monday to find out what's up, then I will provide the information here... If proof needed, I will remeasure and provide pics.

 

Check the tolerance of the calipers you're using. Some have an awfully large margin of error...

 

Do check the tolerence...and are you using a digital caliper?...and was it zero'd out when closed?

 

We used them last week on a DC header...

it was 2.395 that'd be 2.4. Not that I'm totally concerned. It's on my car and it's staying there. Just wanted to make people aware.

Or rounded up. Plus it's not going to make a noticeable difference. And s2 is legit with everything

I dropped a dcrh off and someone back east shipped a vibrant to skunk2 so they could do a dyno comparison on the headers and that was a month ago and nobody at S2 will call me back and i still have seen no results posted. So the legit part is shrinking.

 

maybe they discovered the vibrant made more power lol..

 

So it's not just me thats noticed this.

 

I can't believe this is a thread. The .xx difference will not effect performance. As it stands the skunk 2 header paired with the 70mm exhaust makes the most power of all the bolt on headers out for the car. It was designed to make power and is the only header out right now that compares to a smsp dtr type header.

Somebody else posted they sent a vibrant to be compared. Why? Skunk 2 and vibrant both make good headers and your budget and expectations should be the only real comparison.

Then again what do I know. I just install these parts and dyno them before and after.

No it's not. 2.5" is the nominal pipe size. The nominal pipe size is an approximation of the OD, and the ID is always smaller. Pipe schedule as well as other specifications will result in varying ODs and IDs.

If any of you'd ever had to size pipe before, this would be a non issue.
