skunk 2 cam help

hi guys

I'm thinking about getting a set of skunk 2 stage 2 tuner series cams for my 07 civic si. i currently have an aem short ram intake, dc sport ceramic coated headers and the skunk 2 exhaust. i want to know how you guys like these cams or if you don't like them why not and what other cams would you suggest? As far as my research goes all i see that i need is the skunk 2 pro valve springs and a hondata tuner. i was just wondering if y'all could provide any helpful tips or let me know of anything else i might need. the skunk 2 web site suggested that i raise my compression how would i do this? I've installed the few bolt ons that i have but never done anything this in depth so i need all the help and pointers i can get.

If anybody is giving bad advise its you and K20z3allmtor. You are telling people to get SVM cams which you knowingly has problems on the product side and customer service side. K20z3allmotor saying not to preload tensioner when in reality if you are reusing a tensioner you are preloading the tensioner back into tension:laughing:

I think you got sand in your ****** because all you do is troll the cam section and if nobody has Toda cams you bash. You act like having toda cams impresses me. Other cams that are fraction of the price can make the same hp as your Bangkok cams (i know bangkok is taiwan) if you try to reply back with geographical reply.

Nope I made 12hp more up top and 6hp mid range with my old stage 2 skunk cams over my friends stage 1 and we both had the same mods on that same Dyno! Those Overpriced Japanese cams uses better quality material and have done way more extensive R&D than Skunk

K20z3allmotor don't give out bad advise his advice have been useful to a lot of people here.

People have been running Toda cams but you have to look into different forums…a lot of people on K20A and CRSX have been making better power with those Toda cams over the skunk cams without having tensioner issues. Way better midrange power and better top end!

And K20Z3allmotor had the only working SVM cams that made great power until he sold it

I made 402hp with my SC setup with that "crappy" invidia header. :shrug: now I'm running a custom go-power header and I know that I'll make more with that than the invidia and alpha header

was this all done NA or SC setup? Dyno same day or different day? Those gains could be just variables from the dyno.. but if Vit has said skunk2 header is the best non custom header then

And like I said, k20z3allmotor has been working on these motors, not as a hobby but as his JOB, for over a decade. He's built several record winning motors and keeps improving his own over and over again. What genuine automotive accolades have you accrued? Forum troll?

402hp? That was all SC setup, on a hot summer day!

Oh BTW Go Power 575 header = Alpha header! Not the Mega Power R = Alpha header

really thats good to know. Yeah I heard Jeff from go power went to skunk2 so i can believe that lol.

yeah but im talking about a NA setup though, so that 70mm outlet most likely did out perform the skunk2 on your SC setup.

Jeff was originally with skunk then left to make go power and now back with skunk but he's second in command next to Tony

It's "geographical" NOT "geological." You should use words that you know the meaning of. We went to school for a reason.

I don't claim to have any automotive accolades. You say you know better than k20z3allmotor. I never said I did. I just know he knows better than you lol. You have nothing to back up your claims. "Oh yeah the Skunk2 Megapower and Alpha are the same headers. Oh, why? Well because they look like it." Wow....

You still sucking his dong i see... how does it taste? He gets help building a all out race car, while i build stock motors.. Yeah my "Geographical" is that of a 5th grader but so is your Literacy. yeah he knows better than me what the **** does that mean? Re-type what you are trying to say. I never said i knew more than him if you take the time out to actually read a post rather than to nut swing you would comprehend that if the tensioner is still in specs of the tension limit of which i posted you are not hurting a damn thing, point blank.

Im sure Hybrid racing can chime in because I'm sure their tensioners are just as stiff as a preloaded OEM tensioner w/more teeth and a extra set of ratchet gear. Get this, and still within that tension limit. :clapping:

K20z3allmotor did not only build "all out race cars." If you follow his build thread, it's actually on his daily driven Si. And he builds cars on his own, in his own shop. I'm just giving out respect, where respect is due. And I have great respect for Emannuel because you can see that he loves what he does and does it the very best he can. I've been screwed over by a lot of shops, and seeing him work on my car (right after finishing a 17 hour drive and sleeping for maybe 1-2 hours), I was amazed. He didn't cut any corners even though he was tired as heck, and the next day, he worked tirelessly 13 hours to get my car running for the week. Also, he brought a whole bunch of quality OEM parts that he gave me for free. You call it what you want, but Eman is not just a great mechanic, he's a great guy too. So yeah, I will stand behind his work and his expertise.

So since you can't comprehend simple English ("he knows better than you), I will simplify it for you: He's a better, more knowledgeable, more experienced, and smarter mechanic than you are. Comprende?
