I picked up this high miler 2010 Civic Coupe as a spare / car for my daughter. The upper door window frames, aft, are severely rusted. I briefly searched on line but didn't really find much about restoration or repair on this part of the car. I also read that there may be a manufacturers warranty for 12 years...?
Anybody familiar with this and / or have a recommendation on where to research it? Is this a "thing" with the Coupe door frames?
Kindest regards,

Can't say I've seen that sort of rust, but I'm just below the rust belt. Only place I've seen them rust alot is inside the fenders/wheel wells. As a matter of fact, my '08 I'm getting ready to ditch (motor is getting ready to give up the ghost), has a bit of that rust starting to bubble up around the wheel wells. Just picked up a 2011 si with lowish miles that was supposed to have just a few things wrong is turning into a handyman's special LOL. That thing has some gremlins in the wiring and a drive accessory noise which turned out to be a bad compressor rather than one of the pulleys. Overall these aren't bad used vehicles though (much better than a jetta I picked up for my daughter - maintenance nightmare). Yeah, check into the corrosion warranty. Believe that varies with manufacturer; may have only been 10 year but I'm not sure. Sorry I'm not much help.

The rest of the car is great considering the age. No rust anywhere else to speak of. So, yes...door replacement would probably be the easiest and quickest option but I expect sourcing two matched doors at any of the local used places could be costly. The car has 298,000 kms (186,000 miles). Still running strong (no excessive engine oil usage etc.) but not worth much in a sale.
