I just installed it today and the first thing that I noticed is that when I open it it swings open very violently and in order for me to open it I have to be there to hold it so it doesn't just get catapulted off like in Medieval Times. Is there anything that I can do? I am going to install the Seibon Carbon Fiber Wing on Friday and that will add a little bit more weight but I am afraid it's gonna still open with a lot of force. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! :)

Automatic trunk opener?

Have you guys seen this at all? I rented a MB when I was living in Germany a few years ago (man, that was '03, time flies) and when I popped the trunk it had an actuator that opened the trunk on its own.

Anybody have some idea on where I can find something like this for an '07 si?

Thanks.

You can do one of two things.

1. Remove the trunk springs so that the CF trunk no longer is a catapult when you use the trunk release inside the cabin. If you chose this option then you'll have to manually open and close the CF trunk.
2. Hold your hand on top of the trunk and use the trunk release button on your remote so that your hand can catch the CF trunk before it pops open.

I had to remove the trunk springs because the inner taillights did not line up correctly on my FA5. The pressure the trunk springs were exerting was pushing up on the CF trunk. I've gotten used to not having the trunk springs.

Does your CF trunk sit flush like the OEM trunk?
