Hi All

Over the last few days, I've noticed a grinding sound, no feeling just sound, coming from the car only when in 2nd gear and at a very low speed - the kinda speed when you're just moving real slow looking for a parking spot in a crowded lot. This is from a 2008 SI sedan, anyone else hear the same thing? All the other gears seem ok.

Thanks
vik

never had a grind in second at low speed... only when shifting too quickly at redline (1st to 2nd)

Is that when you shift into second gear?

Or while driving in second gear?
No, the shifting is fine - the sound comes when I'm driving in second gear and going real slow. I'm not touching the clutch at all. Just a slight depression on the accelerator to keep the car moving and I get that grinding sound - its very slight but disappears if I disengage the gear by pressing the clutch. It also goes away if I speed up a bit.

I have this as well. I can't replicate it when I need to, but it definitely does happen to me. I've had others in the car when it happened as well.

And yes, the clutch was pushed all the way in.

It just happens randomly.
