Posts related to selling items absolutely will not be tolerated.

hey vit, can you tell us why civics? got me thinkin....you have several cars, modified, and seem to prefer the civic when it seems you could have a "fast" car. does it have to do with your business since that is a lot of what you tune? or do you prefer the fwd or like the way a honda drives or what? gotta have 800 hp turbo cars and the easiest/cheapest way it with this platform? just curious.

It's a conversation that is better had in person as there is a LOT I can say. But to sum it up a bit...

The business is a small part of it, not as much as you'd think. I could leave Civics behind, even if it hurt my business for an interim, and not cry about it. In fact if I didn't enjoy the majority of the interaction I've had with you guys and the community in general I probably would of quit a long while ago, but as it stands I'm in it for the long haul.

You know when a business says "thanks for your support", well in my case I really mean it and it's why I stay in it. Jay, Eman, Dave, you, the rest of the SD/SoCal crew, the Mid-ATL crew, Texas crew, the guys in AZ, etc, keep me going and doing what I do best.

So business aspect aside -- why Civics? It's an amazing platform, it's new, it's fresh. It's not a POS B series ragged out hatch. It does a lot more than just go straight. 800hp isn't exactly "easy", although it may seem like it. My Civics have certainly seen their share of my blood and sweat, fortunately no tears. But even my high HP built Si can hit up the twisties and be stupid fun -- or I can just rip hard in a straight line.

It's also unexpected, because it's fresh and new -- not many 8th gens running fast times. Especially not fast times when it looks stock, that's one allure for me -- I can come out to the track, make ONE pass, nail a solid time, and draw a huge crowd from all kinds -- Subaru, Honda, Evo, Mazda guys, etc. Today I had EnglishRacing (shop here in Oregon, lots of Evo stuff at that shop) all up in my business checking out the car in just awe of what I'm doing out at the track with it -- and the car's never been on the dyno, ever.

So there's that aspect -- FlashPro. The software is absolutely amazing, the ECU is fantastic. It's complex, yet very fun to tune.

Add to that the fact the K20 is an absolute marvel -- not many n/a 4 bangers will take 500whp all day long and keep on ticking in stock form. The way it responds to F/I (any kind of F/I) is IMO unparalleled by any 4 banger ever made to date. And well, I absolutely, totally, fawking love the feel of a turbo car. Nothing is like it.

Sure I could buy a mustang, throw a blower on it and run 10's. Sure as hell would be easier than anything you can do with a Civic.
