long story short, got in an accident, getting my car back tomorrow. i removed my HID kit to avoid any problems, but i grazed the bulb on the way out of the headlight and i dont know if it got scratched, its really hard to tell. anyways i'm worried that if i get it all hooked up, the bulb will blow inside the headlight. is there a safe way to test it outside the housing? i've never worked with headlights in this fashion so i'm in the dark here...

Well, do you still have the clear plastic case the bulbs came in? Seems that would be fine for testing them in.

I tested mine just holding them (not the actual glass of course), I really doubt a very minor scratch would make them "blow".

no i dont have that clear case anymore, just the little box they came in...

i'd always read that grease or a scratch in the glass could make them blow so its worrying me

so just plug em in, and light em up outside the housing? and thats safe? if so i could give that a try...
