I just installed an AEM SRI in my 07 FG2. Gotta love the sound! Anyway, in AEM's installation directions, I was instructed to remove all of the stock intake, but I did not see a reason to remove the lower half of the intake (read - hose coming from the wheel well to the stock box). So, I left the hose in place, and all seems well. Is there a reason to remove that lower portion of the stock intake?

Keep your lower resanator box. Behind fender.Aswell as the hose leading to it.
that will save time. And what he said.^^^^^The bottem of the main filter box many
times can act as heat shield.
