Yesterday went in for a B1 service. My ABS checked out ok. Plus at just over 50000 K on my car, still have 70 % left on the tires and brakes .
How many people from Vancouver actually suffer from this? Just wondering as I have had zero problems with my 3rd gear in either of the 07 Si's I have owned yet the problem seems so widespread.
That is normal. The guys in Richmond Acura go full speed through the speed bumps. The last tech who drove me to work did the same **** on one of the courtesy cars and at that time, I wanted to slap the **** out of him. You can hear the shocks bottoming out.To top it off, he drives through their parking lot F&F style, skipping all over the speed bumps. I am not a happy customer and start telling him to slow the F down unless he wants to replace my suspension too.
Dropped off the car at Vancouver Honda and proceeded to have a big stink with the Serivce Advisors there.
I told them I wanted the B1 service done and and MTF flush and third gear synchro replacement. Service Advisor Allen was very pessimistic even though I showed him my email and a copy of this same service done to lionelp's CSX-S. They laughed at me like I didn't know what I was talking about; they kept insisting that Acura is different than Honda, and the CSX is different from my Si. WTF SRSLY?!
Anyways, I go on a test drive with a tech (Philip) and of course, my 3rd gear is buttery smooth the whole time. Goddammit... why does that always happen?! To top it off, he drives through their parking lot F&F style, skipping all over the speed bumps. I am not a happy customer and start telling him to slow the F down unless he wants to replace my suspension too. Even better - he looked at my car and asked if it was "manual transmission". I was like :shady: "dude, it's an Si."
Ugh.
So they've only agreed to do the MTF flush for now. I'm sick and tired of having to go back and forth with them. Having ANY warranty work done by Honda is like pulling teeth (this is one of the reasons why I wanted to buy an Acura CSX-S... so I can get better service).
So, we'll see how the car drives later. Hopefully it's all good, as I don't want to go back there for warranty work. (Sorry P1NGP1NG, but Vancouver Honda Service Dept is full of idiots. They don't give me the attention and care I need as a customer that bought a car from them. Will they get scared if I say your uncle's name?)
HAHA Thanks Kenny! I hope the MTF flush worked though.hmmm thats weird. Allan has been with Honda for over 10 years i believe.
i Just quit vancouver honda as a salesperson.
I havent been with them for too long so i cant say much about the service department. But everyone tells me they suck haha.
Sorry to hear about your experience, If only i could have helped but i guess you didnt know that i worked there.
The only reflash available is an update for 2006 Si's (which was notably worse) to the 2007+ DBW programming.I have a 2008 FA5 Si that I picked up from Surrey Honda. I notice the rev hangs quite abit, does anyone know if I can get a Reflash on Vancouver Island?
Just be warned that not waiting for the revs to drop before you shift will put extra wear on the clutch.I think you're right that all Si's have the rev hang to some degree, however I don't need to learn to shift slow, I could do that easily enough, I just rather shift quick!![]()
just to clarify it's you're, not yourtype-si, stop fooling around, your an *******
