do you guys regret or wishing that you drive mazda3 or scion tc, instead of civic? these were my choices before i got my civic, we all know that they have better engine performance, some sexyness and cheaper base price compare to the civic.
im jealous everytime i see mazda3 especially the fully loaded one! whoooo!
maybe i just realized all of these when my r18 starting to grow more problems, clunking, squeaking, rattling. do the scion tc n mazda3 have these problems too??
i'm sure most small cars under 20k will have there flaws. Mine is getting better with age. The noises are going away in some cases. You just have to get in there and find and fix the problems. No car is going to be perfect
One of the reasons I bought the R18 was because I had a 2002 Si and it had transmission issues also heard about alot of the RSX ones. I figured honda would do the same on the new Si so I thought I best stay away.
I'm sure they all have their share of problems. The only things I regret for buying a civic instead of the Tc is probably the acceleration and how much more "extra" stuff about the same price as an LX. I drive my dads 2001 Accord V6 and it really takes off compared to my civic. But at the end of the day I see how sexy my car is and how it has the ability to turn heads and the next morning I feel good knowing I drove 100 miles and I still have well over half a tank of gas left. If I were to do it again, I'd still buy this car. :thumb:
No way. I'd never take the tC over the civic. Sure its faster but I prefer quality over a few extra tq and hp. If only they put the k20z2 in it. I think the interior of the tC is worse than the civic. Everything in it looks cheap and plain. I love my civic interior. Theres only one rattle in the right door speaker when i play music with a lot of bass. My only regret is not getting an SI. I haven't been in a MS3 yet but from pictures, I'd still take the civic.
hehe i wont be surprise how many people here regret getting EX/LX/DX when they should have gotten an Si to beginning with, but hey its cool, you can just always trade it your current car and go to an upgrade, everyone deserve to be happy of the car that they purchased :thumb:
Umm yah i regret not getting a 2003 330i for 18,000 ....and it was in the color i wanted. But it was kind of my fault b/c i said i wanted to look around to see my other options and by the time we went back to get the car it was already gone:sadwavy: but i do love the gas mileage =] and ive finally learned to love the beauty of a GG lol
dont regret but just wish the civic was cheaper for the stuff it comes with.. like the lancer and mazda 3 is cheaper and comes fully loaded LOL -.- but Honda over all
edit: only negative thing that came out is that i shoud've gotten the Si from the beginning rather than getting r18 then trading it in later for an Si... cost me a few thousands and more on my monthly payment/gas.
good attitude.
It's true though, you gotta just make do with what you have. Although, I do wish I had gotten the mazda3 hatch instead... just seems so much better for some reason.
However, I speak for all the Canadians with R18's.. While the Si is a great car, a $30,000+ price tag for a civic for 60 more hp is not a good match. If the Si was the same price as yours in the States - $22,000ish, then I'd be on it in a second. Here's some food for thought, my DX-G was $22,500, but I am completely happy with it, and have been since day 1.
If I had $30,000 in my pocket looking for a new car, I probably wouldn't look at the civic si. Not in Canada anyways.
I don't regret not taking the TC over the Civic, but i do regret not buying an Si over the R18, but am sure i will Regret not buying the R18 over the Si if i had that stupid 3rd gear grind.
So am sure after i turbo my R18 all the toughts about buying the Si will be gone.:thumb:
NOPE. Then you'll be wondering how fast an Si with a turbo will be. I had a mid 12 sec AWD eclipse a la Brian Earl Spilner. I'm over the speed. I just wanted the look/handling of the Si. Rather than buy another Ex and add suspension and spoiler, figured I'd just get right to the Si.
I love my R18, good gas mileage, good in the corners, and if you have a M/T and know the power band is between 3-4.5K and know how to quick shift it can be fun
Agreed I love my GGM coupe (except for the strut bump stop noise) Been getting about 34 MPG on S$#%%y winter cali 87 so happy with mileage so far. Tranny seems to be pretty solid. Picked it over SI as I decided to keep my paid off 03 330i 6M for fun. Plus much less chance of getting "hated" on as the wheels and red emblems seem to bring out all the lo-lifes around here (2 buddies with Si coupe&sedan have already been keyed)
i really like the mazda3 wagon in that bright blue...but i don't like the FE it gets..
the main reason i bought the civic was because it gets great mpg...and so far after putting 20k miles on the car i have averaged 41mpg/tank over the life of the car...
i don't think i could get the same results with the 3
