Possibly swapping Si's - NHBP for TW w/ Nav

Bought an '07 NHBP sedan in August. Love the car. Great bang for the buck. Fun as heck to drive. At the time I really wanted a Nav model but none were available. I also swore for years I'd never own a black car. But I liked the look of the sedan in black. Now I know why I swore off a black car -- I'm too OCD for a black car. And up here in the northeast with road salt for 4 months of the year, it pains me to see the crap on the black and I can't wash it myself during this time.

So I'm thinking crazy thoughts. With only 3500 miles on my '07, I'm considering trading it in for an '08 Taffeta White Nav model. Sedan or coupe, doesn't really matter to me. I prefer the versatility of the sedan. But IMO the sedan looks better in black and the coupe looks better in white. I'm looking at pics on the 8th of taffeta Si's like a mad man here...

The finance part is not a big concern. I financed half of my '07. Yeah, I'd take a bit of a hit on the trade-in. That and the Nav model would boost my monthly payment, but not by too much. Another factor - there are great deals to be had the last week of the year.

Am I crazy? I know it's a bit of a personal decision but let me hear the wise thoughts of the 8th brood! Try and talk me out of it or talk me into it!

If you're not taking a large hit (in your opinion), why not do it? Hell, why didn't you do it sooner?

Fact is, you're not all too happy with your car, and getting the new one will make you feel better (and appease your OCD). BTW, TW is beautiful for the coupe and sedan. :thumb:

I dropped in to the local Honda dealer this afternoon. The first thing I see is a shiny new Mugen right inside the doorway. So I walk around it. Admire it. Glance at the sticker. 30K. Glance at it again. Nice car. But you can do much better for 30K IMO.

Anyhoo, the sales guy doesn't have a taffy sedan Nav model in stock but he's only too happy to search for me. The sales manager said the '08 sedans haven't been easy to come by yet. Lots of coupes. None that are taffeta and have Nav though.

i think white would be a little better because hard water spots wont be as noticeable. and during the spring time you can see all the pollen and dust settle on black after a day it's been washed. do whatever makes you happy man.

but black is super sexy when it's freshly washed and waxed. makes me wanna wash my car right now...haha

so you are OCD about black, but you are moving to white? that really isnt a better choice, almost just as bad in my opinion..
I disagree. I've owned a LOT of cars over the years, but never a black one. As far as hiding dirt, I'd say this is the pecking order for the Si colors IMO:

Galaxy Gray > Alabaster Silver > Taffeta White > Habanero Red > Rallye Red > Fiji Blue > Nighthawk Black

Agree. Black is a ***** to keep really clean. But when it's freshly washed and waxed, there's nothing sexier. And that's why I may just end up sucking it up and keeping the NHPB. I have some eyes watching for a TW Nav model (sedan preferred) but they are hard to come by around here for some reason...
