Like when you turn right, a buckling noise from the strut which I'd suspected might be the initial problem. My mechanic said it was the control arm. After swiping out, still heard the sound. Might need a new strut. Problem is when you swipe one strut, you gotta do the other side as well.hey guys i'm just curious
what does the popping sound like, more specifically?
For anyone else who has this problem, make sure the nut on the top hat is tightened enough. With those TEIN coilovers, the shaft spins along with the nut if you try and tighten with a socket wrench. You must use an impact driver to get it tight enough. Just be careful not to overdo it and over tighten. I had this exact same problem and this was the solution. In hindsight it would have been easier to just spend a bit more and get the coilovers that were already fully assembled with their own new top hats.My 2011 FA5 makes a popping/clunk sound when driving at low speeds (such as parking lots) all the freaking time.
I have replaced the sway bar bushings, new Moog endlinks, I have TEIN Flex coilovers (with pillowball front camber plates) and reused the OEM top hats & front strut bearings when the coils were installed, replaced front lower control arms with Hardrace front LCAs
I cannot understand what this noise is caused by...
