Pistons for boost

I have decided to go down the turbo route.
I have a Civic Type-R K20Z4

I thought that it would be best to upgrade internals while I'm at it.

Is it better to drop compression?

What psi could I run on 11:1 forged internals?

And psi on 9.8:1 forged internals?

I agree. The motor handles tons of power in stock form quite well. Getting a dogbox or straight cut gears should be the next thing done before even thinking about building the internals. From what I've seen, 4th gear seems to be the most common gear to go in the K20s.

How I see it...If you plan to catch traction on a stock tranny with tons of tq, you can kiss the tranny goodbye. My suggestion is definitely look into getting a dogbox or straight cut gears then start working on catching traction and going faster.

Thanks for the info.
I am probably going for a full race setup with a GT3076R I dont want more than 450hp but there is a difference in the K20Z4 and your Z3. I believe your motors have forged rods and can take 400hp ours are not forged and apparently need upgraded internals for over 340+hp.
