New Si(***Updated for lite Auto-X fun 1/7/06***)

First delayed from the 20th to the first week in January and now it shows up last night. Picking up my new Alabaster Silver Si 2pm local time. I'll post some pics later today once it is back home. Thank God the wait is finally over.

I'm glad you're finally getting yours. I was told the same story but I wasn't lucky enough to get mine for Christmas. Let us see some pics especially of the headlights. I wanna see how the half-halo looking ring looks.

Sorry it was dark when I got home a half hour ago. I'll get more pics in the daylight (and sorry, Ciscoboy1, I did not see the message about the headlights until I got inside after taking the pictures)

I drove around a bit before coming home and had a bit of fun on some speedy cornering. Def need better tires than the Mich HX all seasons. I was losing grip quite a bit...though I have to admit I was pushing it for fun.

I feel just like a kid driving the new Si.

Floor Mats

Janizary,

I noticed the floor mats, so I have a few questions:

Did the dealer throw them in for free?
Are they black, the same color as the interior?
Are they embroidered with the Si logo?

Those floormats are a standard feature with the Si (the EX also comes standard with the cloth woven floormats). If there are no floormats in your Si, demand that the dealer put them back in (the Civic brochure lists floormats as standard on the LX and higher I belived...I know the EX and Si get them for sure). I had thought they were black with red trim, however, I just went down to look at them up close and they are just black. Probably the same as are used in the EX.

I also got free wheel locks and VIN etching on my Si. Those are usually charged separately if you want them. My salesperson took care of me.

So, if the dealers are telling the truth (I know, a stretch). The first Si came into Vegas to Honda West, and the second to Desert Honda. Both are still sitting on the showroom floors. That would make mine the first sold in Vegas.

I would have thought that one would have come in (and sold) before this, given that Si's were arriving in SoCal nearly two weeks ago.

Got a few 'what is that?' questions at stoplights, and a few handwaves from some 99-01 Si coupe drivers that drove by, as well as a 'that exhaust note is great' from one of the 99-01 Si drivers.

The dealer was also great and did not add any dealer stickers, logos, nor did they mount the front license plate bracket. YAY! In Nevada, if the car does not have a stock bracket for the front plate, no plate need be displayed. The car looks so much better without a plate/bracket there.
