Hey guys I installed a buddys full turbo back on his evo and forgot to tie up his o2 sensor line away from his exhaust. Naturally, the exhaust burnt right though the line causing him to throw a check engine light. The o2 sensor is using a 90degree angled defouler to prevent the CEL from the cat-delete. The question I have is this: if the line was burnt right through the middle of the wire itself, would we be able to just cut the burnt section out and somehow fuse the 2 good sides back together? I never have seen how many wires are inside the bundle itself but logically it makes sense that we would be able to just cut the burnt part off and somehow get the wires to join again.

You could use butt connectors or just solder it back together. However, for reliability's sake, I'd just spend $90 and get a new one.

Save yourself the trouble and purchase a new one. Solder it as a last resort, but never butt connectors or electrical tape only.

As a DSM guy we go through o2's every 20k. lol
