The Car: 2008 Honda Civic LX R18 Automatic

So after a scattered build of nothing and a bunch of failed parts, I bring you Nyghtstalkr's R18 Turbo build v2.... Back from the grave. This car has been through a lot. I swore I'd never mod it for many reasons, but here it sits, boosted on a snail fed by straws. LoL. I am redoing my build thread for organizational purposes PLUS everything on my car has changed at this point, so time for a revamp on updates.

I am going to start this from the time my turbo was rebuilt back right after thanksgiving forward. Pics soon to follow.

Pics or it didn't happen. Lol, sounds like quite an ordeal. Looking forward to updates.

Drop shipped to you from my GS2
Posted vids, but I'll update more when I get home
Care to share how much you've invested into the turbo build? Also, was it worth it?

scratch the first question, didnt see the spreadsheet lol
Worth it? Hmmm, I love the instant power, but this car was never meant for boost plus my pocket book was never meant for this much hurt. Little odds and ends aren't on that spreadsheet i.e. tuning & re-tuning charges, bolts, fasteners, tools I didn't have that I needed to maintain it, and then my time and stress trying to fix this kit and bring it to the level it needed to be at for it to be working correctly and be reliable. If you get everything I have brand new, and start from scratch, and have the extra money for when things go wrong, then sure it can be worth it. The extra power and torque is addicting. It's all in the eye of the beholder. I am just bound and determined to get a reliable DD now... lol
Sweet
Here's a broken motor mount...

However, the Boomba mounts are in and working beautifully.

Updated the list. It should be in the completed form.
Sure. Let me take some and I will. Keep in mind they will be changing as I am trying to change how my charge pipes are routed.
Great build. I watched some of your youtube videos and im super impressed. Exacty what I plan on doing, probably going to wait until my warrantee expires. Then again, by the time I save up for everything it'll probably be long over.
The Car goes to Ramey Built tonight. This is the same shop that welded the brackets on my intercooler. They are making a hole new exhaust pipe from turbo outlet to Vibrant Resonator on the Vibrant R18. It will be more straight, perfect angles and perfect placement on the O2 sensors. While they are doing this, I will have them replace my coolant lines and fittings so they do not leak any more. They will also be welding a bung on my charge piping for my External IAT sensor (2000 Prelude Base IAT sensor). I will also have them see about battery relocation and moving my intake piping to the front driver side fender area so it is pulling cooler air. I will also be seeing about them fixing my AC Line and the charge piping so it is not rubbing. I will let you giys know how things go. I hope they will get everything up and running great. I'm also going to see about having them put the Auto Tranny Cooler on too.

hey OP why did you use a 2000 prelude base iat sensor? and how has the battery relocation gone along? i am interested in relocating the battery on my r18
I had to prolong the shop work by two weeks. I just dropped the car back off again tonight, so it will be done by next wednesday. I will take pics of everything when I'm done. If you want to see my exhaust work when Ramey Built is finished, you can add both myself and Ramey Built on Facebook. they are going to take pics of old exhaust and downpipe with the new one too along with all the other stuff. =)

I used a 2000 Prelude IAT because it has a screw mount base vs the RSX not having a base that can be screwed in. Plus the Prelude's sensor reads faster if you trim the plastic away from the tip and expose the sensor. From my understanding if you do this to the RSX sensor, you damage the sensor itself.
I went to Ramey Built tonight to see my car. =) Exhaust is already cut out. AC line is ordered. All charge pipes will be replaced (for free) and re-routed, and they are going to replace my valve cover gasket cause it looks like its leaking oil slightly. I'm stoked!

So I am completely stoked here! I have some goodies that will take place that are a little bit of a secret until they are done, but they should be a nice addition!

OH!!! I dropped off my Forge UNOS MBC to them and they are going to try and get it working properly!!!!

Ok, here is she is, in progress. This is freakin awesome! This work has turned out to be so much better than I could have imagined!

Here starts the pics.... All of this is done by Ramey Built in Virginia Beach, VA

The new exhaust is 2.5" from turbo back. I kept the rear section of the Vibrant exhaust from the resonator back.

Build looks amazing bro! What diameter is your charge piping? And what gauge and how many feet of wiring did you use to relocate the battery?
