Check to see if the hood is properly closed. If not, you won't get that horn alarm sound after pressing the lock button twice
It always is, so that's not the issue. And the main horn is working as well, so that wouldn't be the issue either. Is the horn that beeps when you lock the car on a different fuse? Maybe that's blown?Check to see if the hood is properly closed. If not, you won't get that horn alarm sound after pressing the lock button twice
These cars will not sound that horn beep if your doors are not shut, your hood is not properly closed or your trunk is malfunctioning thus not closing. It always is, so that's not the issue. Well that can't be the issue. I've already checked all doors, the hood as well as the trunk. They all close properly. I use the remote to lock the car whenever I leave it and the car does lock, it also flashes the lights once indicating that the car locked and to my knowledge the car won't lock if there is a latch that isn't properly closed. All interior lights also cut off after I close the driver door. It probably wouldn't do these things if a latch wasn't closed properly right? Or do you mean there is like a sensor that is malfunctioning? Because I'm 100% sure all latches are properly closed and function as they should. These cars will not sound that horn beep if your doors are not shut, your hood is not properly closed or your trunk is malfunctioning thus not closing. It always is, so that's not the issue. So, something may be wrong with a latch in your car.
They do just that.Well that can't be the issue. I've already checked all doors, the hood as well as the trunk. They all close properly. My hood does close properly though so that's not the issue. Nah this civic has never been in an accident. They do just that.Well that can't be the issue. I had to get my car's front end replaced. Did it myself. Hood wouldn't close. So, I just left it down. Pushed the lock button once, Lights blinked and interior light dimmed down. Pushed lock button twice, lights flash but no beep.
Once i got the hood and hood latch properly installed then it got the beep sound back.
Is your horn working? Was the car ever in an accident?
Is that a thing with 8th gen civics? Would be wonderful if that were the problemIn my 98 Civic EX, you could perform a code with the remote to enable or disable the "verification beep".... I'm thinking that's what happened at some point
If that civic has not been touched then it does not have it.My hood does close properly though so that's not the issue. Nah this civic has never been in an accident.
Well, if that's the case then my suspicion that 8th gen KK spec civics didn't come with that feature is probably true then. I guessss I could go to my local dealer and ask them but I really don't feel like driving there just for that.If that civic has not been touched then it does not have it.
Why drive there when u can call them.Well, if that's the case then my suspicion that 8th gen KK spec civics didn't come with that feature is probably true then. I guessss I could go to my local dealer and ask them but I really don't feel like driving there just for that.
You're right, but I'd rather have a conversation in person so I held off from phone calls. I ended up going today (May 7th), but the main reason I went in was to pick up my civic that's been sitting there from February 20th. Just got it back this morning. Since I was there I discussed it with em and they came to the conclusion that my civic doesn't have this feature along with cruise control because my civic is KK spec. I guess only US spec and Canadian spec LX's come standard with these two features. Now the next question is can I Install these two features even though they didn't come with my civic. :think:Why drive there when u can call them.
Ask them about the alarm and immobilizer which should be set once the doors are locked. Yet your car does that partially as there's no sound confirming your alarm has been set.
