Trust me, you want an aftercooler. It's actually a lot better for the SC and your motor than running totally uncooled.
Trust me, you want an aftercooler. It's actually a lot better for the SC and your motor than running totally uncooled. That would be sweet! I would definitely. But like I said, I want something simple. No after cooler stuff. Well, until then haha.
Part-out coming.....one dayI still need to read up on all that. But I definitely want to go that route.

Yeah I remember the struggle here. Job market sucks here.Trust me I am haha. But after buying my truck I'm broke. My job F'd me over saying they'd let me work over the summer and already hired people. The job search back home is a PITA.
I didnt mean power wise they are a joke. Being "drop in" is. Save your time and engine and upgrade your VT is what i was gettin at.which one is skunk2 stage 1 "drop in" and which one is Drag cartel 2.2 lol.. Not my car, its from a recent dyno day on a mustang dyno but point is You dont need a stage 2 cam to make HP. But i agree with you used CT kit will be better hp for dollar vs all motor.
I would like to try prayoonto cams as well. but at this point i dont care about modding anymore. Just get a car that is turbo and quick from the factory will be the easiest option at this point.
i use the ctr fd and dc5r 4th and 5th and makes my car way faster in acceleration and makes all gears shorter. the dc5r 4th and 5th make them even shorter vs the stock 4th and 5th. since all gears are shorter from the fd the stock 6thgear is shorter ,so when your driving at 65-75 mph your in higher rpms vs stock fd and makes drone/mpg an issue. some people use the 9th gen sixth to eliminate that issue as its a longer gear than the stock 8thgen 6th. (i still use oem 6th as i dont daily my car)Swap over an RRC pump instead of the A2. No trimming the pump needed to get it to fit. You still need the necessary timing chain/parts too though. But what's the big difference with the dc5r 4/5th and 9thgen 6th gear? You've got me interested.
Ive mentioned before that Ive been running skunk2 stage 1 cams on stock VT for 4 yrs now and no issues. I couldn't afford the down time since its my daily so thats probably why ppl want "Drop ins" cams bc its their only car.I didnt mean power wise they are a joke. Being "drop in" is. Save your time and engine and upgrade your VT is what i was gettin at.
Also that dyno proves nothing w/o parts list or what cam degree hes running on each set. his mods could've supported the skunk2 cams better, I believe the dc 2.2 would benifit more with higher compression with a big tb,ported im, pnp head, and bigger pistons ect.
That's the thing with cams you'll only see gains mid range and peak hp VS stock cams. Exactly in bold, if you're interested in skunk2 then get it! Don't listen to the popular answer, many ppl haven't ran on skunk2 cams and just read on what happened to other ppl online. I was the same way too, skeptic about skunk2 cams bc of the tct issues and i did my research and did my install correctly and street tune isn't too aggressive (low cam) and so far they've been great to me.Skunk2 cams have me interested though, at least there new sets. I mean, regardless i'm gonna be making similar power with most "stage 2" cams i just want it to be reliable, and more power all around; aka from low to high....not just from 6k+. And a $500 difference between the skunk2s and the drag cartels, i just don't know. Its hard for me to justify spending the money on them when i only ever hear, "just get cartels, cartels are the best". No ever comparison.
If those same ppl take the time to read up on how to fix the "tct issues" and actually run their cams they would see there's an actual fix to the issues.comparison is there, now i don't know how much more the DC cams make over the s2 but honestly if you're going to be taking out the cams/valve train you might as well do it right and there is hundreds that swear by the DC 2.2 cams and never had a problem, s2 on the other hand people always have the tensioner problem, all in all the drag cartel 2.2 cams are tried and true, save up the extra $500 because in the end it's worth it knowing your motor is in good hands with the cartel cams when paired with the supertech valvesprings/retainers
edit : like sidanny said for the price of cams/valvetrain/tune you can buy a used SC kit and as long as you have a good intake/header and exhaust you'll see around 300whp and you get that sexy whine
