FA5 with 06 TSX cams, dyno sheets.

i decided to clean up this original post, alot of dyno sheets now with diferent combinations...

reason for all my dynoing, well my AFR's were a little lean, so im just tryin to get it all straighten out now.

here is a direct comparsion of my car and a Stock Si. stock Si's put down low 170's on this dyno, this SI put down 174WHP with 131 lbs ft, i put down 199WHP with 139 lbs ft of tq
my mods are
fujita short ram
P2R spacer
ported DC race header
NST pulleys
hondata IMG
hondata reflash
06 TSX cams

dyno jet figures with all my mods that are listed 211WHP

the scary AFR on my car with all the mods listed above

AFR on a stock Si

the AFR leans out just right with the CAMs... so what was the problem? FUJITA SRI was letting in to much un metered air and causeing it to lean out over 1 FULL point vs the stock airbox... my findings are the diameter or the fujita is bigger than the stock airbox... and the dividers that the factory airbox have are there for a reason... i got nothing but consistant AFR through the whole power band with the stock box..

here is the fujita SRI AFR vs my Stock airbox AFR

next graph here is all mods listed above with the exception of the P2R spacer vs NO spacer and NO fujita short ram...(stock box) look closely, i picked up 2 lbs ft of tq but i did lose about 8 WHP with the stock airbox but its only over 7500...

dynojet figures fujita VS airbox.... 208.9 WHP with SRI and 201.3 with the stock airbox.

ALL THESE FIGURES ARE SAE CORRECTED!!!!

here is all the cam info again

******** cam part and price info from acuracarland.com*********

14110-RBB-A00 CAMSHAFT, IN. 1 2006 TSX list 420.48 there price 336.38
14120-RBB-000 CAMSHAFT, EX. 1 2006 TSX list 439.13 there price 351.30

DO NOT BUY 04-05 TSX intake CAMSHAFT they are not the same... they have less lift and duration on the highcam lobe.... "14110-RBB-000 CAMSHAFT, IN. 1 2005 TSX list 439.13 there price 351.30" its more expensive too...

so you left the tsx cams out for good?
the cams are staying in :) the A/F is perfect with the stock airbox

worth what?
a lean afr which could = a messed up motor
stutter here and there
etc etc ....

a lean afr will almost always equal bigger numbers ... but too lean is not good ...

if he had to tune the afr only and richen it up with the cai or sri / fujita he's using ... he'd have lost power all the same ...

"maybe" if he could tune the entire thing, angles etc etc then "maybe" the intake would be worth something ...

otherwise i'd stick to stock box > whatever is out there intake wise
mmm... not really, if i had a way to richen it up with the intake it would definately make gains.. the cause at that lean A/F keeps pulling timing, i messured the diameter of the fujita and the stock box and the fujita pipe is bigger, and i also beleive that those dividers that everyone keeps cutting out when they modd the stock airbox help meter the incoming air correctly and accurately.... the fujita is letting alot of air come in unmetered causeing my lean condition. i here the injen helps keep the A/F in check... i want to test one if anyone is willing to let me try theres out to get a dyno run with the injen. i will be post my charts soon. for now its the stock box and maybe ill order a K&N drop in:thumb:
dyno sheets galore on page one guys... read carefully and let me know if i missed something.
the car is feeling alot stronger now... weird, maybe its not pulling timing anything now with the stock box... it feels really good
Why not use the ips k2 cams? I have only seen them used on the tov si.

wanted to keep things OEM.
so then there is no problem with the ips cams?

not that i know of, but i would wait for EM before you do IPS cams cause i think those are more aggresive
Bump this thing.

so how do you feel the tsx cams will affect reliability?
What a subjective question. Only time will tell, my friend. Of course he's going to say it feels fine....

..like I said, time will tell!
time should have told. a month of driving and he should be able to give a recap.

lol, ive had my CAMs for months now.
sorry ahead of time for digging this thread up, but I found a guy advertising a set of cams as TSX Type-S cams. Now as far as I know there isnt such a thing. Isnt the TSX just an Accord Type-S in the UK? The price he is asking for them is pretty damn cheap which is the only reason i'm asking about it.
did you use both tsx cams? what year were they?
