I can't figure out which tire size to choose. Yes.. I have been through the stickies.

I just purchased a set of 17x7 HFP wheels and I want some nice shoes, for them. I have read amazing reviews about Goodyear Eagle F1 All Season, and have decided that they are going to be my tire of choice. However... I'm still up in the air, about tire size.

I really want 225/45/17, but I'm worried about a couple things. The tire diameter is about .5" more than stock. Some people seem to think this will effect my 1/4 ET. (every little bit counts) However, wouldn't the extra grip help in the launch? Thus improving my 60ft? After the tires, my next purchase is going to be BC coilovers. I want at least a 1.25 drop on the car, and then I'm afraid I might have rubbing issues. However... I can't find any information confirming or denying this.

I'm halfway thinking about being better safe than sorry, and going with 215/45/17. :(

Any help is appreciated.
