MSN- Cool cars under $30k. Again, look at the top

For all it's rattles, 3rd gear issues, thin paint and a few more things that crop up on here from time to time, the Si doesn't seem to be doing too bad for itself.

KBB gave it a stamp of approval earlier and now MSN is giving it one as well.

Woooo!!! Si Coupe FTW!!!:thumb:
Well, I love the Si and I think its a great car for what it is, but I don't take those things very seriously because a new article in either MT or C&D said that in family sedans, the best was in this order:

1.) Camry
2.) Malibu
3.) Accord
4.) Altima or Maxima (forget)

That should read:

1.) Accord
2.) Malibu
3.) Maxima/Altima
4.) Camry

Still....every single car above has its flaws (the Malibu is too new to tell, however), but recommendation guidelines are different everywhere.

I beg to differ.

The Meanie is a guy. My del Sol was a guy. That car was a *** guy though and damn was he hot. Very popular in Italy, he always had guys following him around. They always said the same thing, "It is so sexy. I love this Car." :D

Both Alfas were old Italian guys. My Prelude was a chick with a buzzcut. My truck was a country girl and I never liked my Tercel enough to care.

Yep. That was my dad's fault. 13 years later and I still never let him forget about it. I hated that [email protected]#$ing piece of @#$% ugly, cheap, tin can, nightmare of a @#$%ing car. *sigh* That is why I'll never buy another Toyota again. Funny part, that @#$%ing clunker was brand new when I bought it.

that's fanboyism, or in ur case fangirlism. Toyotas are very well made and last forever. All my friends with camrys, those cars have awesome build quality and great engines. Now the Tercel stands on its own, with shittyness.. just like the echo. Don't let one toyota ruin ur image of the rest.... especially the cheapest model possible. It's like saying the supra sucks because the tercel sucks.

I can say the build quality of Honda isn't that great either, it isn't that refined. Acura, though its part of Honda, has so much better build quality,,, and obviously as it produces higher costing luxury models. I have to say I drove a newer accord and it was like driving a BOAT. Not as bad as a oldsmobile... but pretty bad. my TL is so much better.

Seriously explain to me how fanboism applies here? Because I don't see how it does.

Anyway, that is my opinion. I don't like Toyota. First impression stuck with me. I didn't like it. The rest of my family has them and they love them. I'm the lone Honda owner, now. They're reliable cars but I still don't want one no matter how nice the Camry looks. I just don't care for them and I'm entitled to feel that way.
Have you seen their reliability lately?

2007 model year= Toyota Recalls | 2007 New Toyota Car Recalls, Defects, & Safety Problems at Automotive.com
Sequioa- 13,128 units recalled for - SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FOUNDATION COMPONENTS:MASTER CYLINDER ; 533,124 units recalled for- SUSPENSION:FRONT:CONTROL ARM:LOWER BALL JOINT

Oct 2007= 470,000 recalls- AFP: Toyota to recall 470,000 cars due to defective parts

Nov 2007= Uh oh, Lexus now... Toyota recalls 264,000 Lexus, other luxury cars - Nov. 29, 2007

Now, in their defense they are about to or have already surpassed GM as the world's largest automaker, so an increase in recalls is understandable. But with the pedestal that people place Toyota on, I would not say that it's excusable. I've been following Toyota's recent trials and tribulations because I'm active on a domestic site that loves to slam imports. Having a heads up on what goes on within the import market helps me to prove them wrong.

Toyota is still up there on the list of most reliable vehicles and I would still recommend a friend or family member buy one before buying a Ford. Sorry, I'm a little partial to GM, who's reliability is definitely improving I may add. Honda has their issues too and by no means are they excused from it. At least toyota recognizes their problem instead of sitting on it and/or denying it as it seems Honda does.

Look, folks. Cars are cars. They get beaten and the majority of them are owned by people who don't know their head from their ******* when it comes to maintaining or getting a problem fixed. It seems like imports are the cars to get when you really don't have a clue. WHich is why I recommend that most of my family drive them.

I was raised on Toyotas. Hell, my grandmom just junked the same Corolla I got my drivers license in 14 years ago when it was only a year old. Can't beat that. The rust bucket still ran but it was harsh to look at. I've already written a novel here I'm not going to write a sequel saying why I don't like them. I don't. Yes, the Tercel was the final pull on the trigger but I will probably never own another one again. That's my choice, I'm sticking to it and no amount of ganging up on me is going to change my mind.
