Hi guys long time civic driver i have an issue no mechanic can seem to fix......so about 3 years ago i installed a cold air intake and no issues with it i cleaned it about a month ago and now ive got a maf code took it to the mechanic and they said it was an air leak that it was fixed. I still have the same symptoms though.....1engine stalls with little or no power if i press the pedal to the floor......and or it pops like two step/ very rough idle never had that before.....and the hunting idle......late shifting or garing shifts any help i also have 61-1 control unit low voltage and modular control unit power source low voltage ive replaced the 02 sesor/maf/both temp sensors/ oil pressure sensor/ throttle body
nothing really helped.....any help would be greatly appreciated (and yes i did the honda relearn)

CAIs suck, they always seem to kill MAFs, and that's not a cheap part to replace. For the super slight gain they give you, it's not worth the sacrifice in reliability. I would swap MAFs with known good one and go from there. And obviously vacuum leaks of any sort. Don't forget to check crap like the valve cover, intake manifold, and the brake booster. Is this a 1.8 or 2.0?

1.8 i cleaned the pcv valve and that fixed it for a sec the code even went away normally after i put the air box back....bit about 3 hours into the drive it came back and now i have a rough idle. Other than that most of the issues went away! Shes fast responsive to the throttle..... So only issues now its just the rough idle and the code again......this is going to sound weird but every 10 seconds she idles a little stronger like shakes a little more underneath me and the fan keeps turning on a lot for the radiator.....

Fuel pump, filter, and injectors are worth checking. More than likely need replacing unless you’ve check on them before. If you don’t have a tune than the computer probably thinks it’s matching extra fuel for the extra air but is actually just sending a regular amount of fuel. Just a thought because I had the same problem. Led me to replacing my intake manifold gasket as well to rule out vaccuum leaks and I fucked up the intake runner solenoid lol so don’t open that big ass sensor up

I was headed in that direction i cleaned the pvc valve and put the stock filter back and for about 3 hours the code went away on its own....then it came back.....so now the only two isusse ive got are a really rough idle and the cel for maf other than that she runs great and no more two step either.....i think ill check the injectors next.....
