Looking up grade parts

I have 2007 Civic coupe LX 1.8 not sure of gen, car runs great. I just want to make it run better all parts on it now are original. I would like to start with performance before looks, I plan to keep this car. I have had this car for 5 yrs now no major issues. I just want to know where to start and what parts are quality. Not trying to race just want to get the best ride I can out of it. Please assist with recommendations. On where to begin.
Honestly for what you’re asking for you need to keep the car stock everything. Just replace normal wear and tear parts

tires
Thermostat
Oil
Belts
Brakepads
Rotors
Brake fluid flush
Front struts
Rear shocks
Etc

when you start down the mod path you inevitably make the car less reliable per OEM standards and proper mods and installation is not cheap and adds up. If that does not sound appealing replacing naturally woren stock parts is your best avenue

I understand, looking to mod some things nothing over the top more for looks and a littler performance not a big deal.
Yea if you’re going for looks cool. Rims coilovers sideskirts lip possible hood tint exhaust rear lip

that be cool exterior only

exhaust and full cold air intake so you
Get some sounds and aggressive look but as i stated before once you start doing real mods you
