Well, I was never 'interested' in hondas before the 8th gens. I really wasnt into cars at all, for that matter. So, as I read and learn new things I try to retain as much knowledge as possible.

One thing that Ive seen a bunch is the reference to older civics, but by there Body Codes (this term could be wrong... Im referring to the FG1, FG2, FA1, FA5, etc) I know Ive seen codes such as: DC5, EP3, EG, EK.... I just dont know what these are.

Would someone be so Kind as to help me compile a listing of what the codes are for the different models throughout the years? Perhaps the stock engine code as well?

FG1 - 2006-2008 Civic EX/LX/DX (Coupe) - R18A1
FG2 - 2006-2008 Civic Si (Coupe) - K20Z3
FA1 - 2006-2008 Civic EX/LX/DX (Sedan) - R18A1
FA5 - 2006-2008 Civic Si (Sedan) - K20Z3

Thanks!

its not that easy on the older ones but I will help where I can, the number actually refers to the engine the car came with...the letter designation is the chassis...the chassis designation is the most important aspect..usually when they mention the number it is for a specific model designation...for example em2...

dc5---rsx-r
ep3---02-05 civic si
EM2--01-05 civic
ES-01-05 civic 4 door
EM1--96-00 civic 2 door
EF's refer to 88-91 civics/crxs
Eg's are generally referred to as 92-95 hatches even though in the us they are stamped eH...Eg's also include 92-95 2 door civics as well as del sol's
dc2-94-01 Integra
da-is a 90-93 integra 2 door
db's- 90-93 Integra 4 door

These are the most common ones you'll see referred to...that list is pretty much the compact cars which made honda great...
