I think he's talking about how to drive it down the quarter mile and not launching.
But as for launching I would say do the brake launch method (Same as brake torque). Don't launch at high rpms while doing this, launch at around 2k-3k rpms. Reason is because at high RPMS doing the brake launch method will result in alot of wheel spin, wheel hop, or even cause you to do a burn out.
Never neutral drop!!!!!!! Ever!! Unless you just plain don't give a **** about your tranny.
Oh and FYI, putting the car in 1 is not gonna do anything to help you launch. All it does is keep the tranny in 1st gear and not let it shift. It's useful when you don't want your car to shift like in snow or maybe if you get stuck. Your car starts in 1st gear anyways so no use putting it in 1.
New around here, and kind of new to Civics. Have been driving my FA5 for about a year and a half, a little over 40k miles (205k->245k). Anyways, I'm beginning to do some motorsports activities with it, and am interested in doing Rallycross. I've seen a few posts about it, but...
i have an si with intake header exhaust intake manifold zdx throttle body tuned flashpro, my question is what cars can i probably beat in race that would not expect it? for example camaro v6? newer models?
I have a 2006 Si and a 1996 Civic hatch and I’m torn on which car I’d let to set up for autocross this summer. I see pros and cons for both but I’ve never done anything like this before so I’d like some input.
Pros for the Si; way faster, LSD, daily driving my hatch would be much cheaper too...
