Ey, what´s up!

I have a 8th gen honda civic si 2008 with 120k mi, K20Z3 stock, just CAI. I already have the tipical sound caused by vtc but there is another sound that just starded one week ago, is sound like a crash inside the valve cover, i already took it off and look for hit marks but there isn´t any, i looked a lot for videos with similar problems but i had no luck so i made one with my problem and uploaded in youtube.

Now i´m here looking for your help, i thinks it could be TCT timing chain tensioner but i am not sure.

The sound is horrible at 2:25, pls take a look

Looks like you got more help in YouTube comments than on here -- that sucks!! I'm interested though please post back your results.. are you planning on changing VTC actuator and tensioner or ??

I have already bought tct, I'll install it when it arrive.
Vtc is a little expensive for my budget right now, maybe for the next month

I´ll replace tct first and yes, i´ll do it by myself, there are a lot of videos in yt DIY to replace it, it isn´t very complicate i hope have good news soon

It's common to replace the timing chain and tensioner around 200k on the K20 so you're not alone. I think its the fact of people pushing the car too hard hence the chain stretching.

200k+ miles which I should've said. Only a couple people need to do this though - it's actually good until it starts to give out problems like the OP said.
