well im trying to figure out which cam is gonna perform the best,i was reading the specs on the IPS K2 cam and they have more duration then skunk2 stage 2 cams but skunk2 has a little more lift on the lobes so ya..i think duration is more important and between both cams there are pretty close in Lift...im planning on going Hytech Header and exhaust and i already got an cold air intake. I wanna throw some cams and a RRC IM and a TSX TB..

Does anyone know excatly what year of TSX TB is the biggest since they are a bolt on TB i rather have it so incase i do go with cams and i can have.

Anyone running Skunk2 stage 3 cams????i wanna say thats too much for the streets.

Got a way to tune? You might wanna start looking into getting a Flashpro or some way of tuning if you haven't yet.

06 & up T-Body:wavey:
i have graphs.....ips cams over skunk 2 any day
drag cartel stage 4's over skunk 2 stage 3's all day and i have proof...

so these 2 lines of comments shoudl save u time and money
Isn't the K2 cam like twice the price of the skunk2? The IPS cam is better, but its $$$$$, so I guess it depends on if you want to spend $1500 on a set of cams.

i would do go powers b4 skunks if you wanted another option...
depends what your goals are. Everysetup and engine is different. THey will all make different numbers.

speaks the truth
what about the whole hytech kit? is that an option for you, op?
IPS K2 no brainer. Way better than the Skunk2 Stage 2. As for the Stage 3 Skunk 2, bad idea. Not a street type cam. The highest horsepower at the Hondata dyno day was bboy burst with IPS cams. BTW, they don't have the issue with the chain tensioner like the Skunk2 either.

So the ips cams wont wear down the teeth on the timing chain tensioner Nitrous?
^ Not that I have ever read.
What was the issue with the skunk 2 cams and the tensioner? I would perfer IPS but was really considering getting skunk 2
Hybrid racing

I got your chain tensioner right here. I've read that its not just the skunk2 cams that break the tensioner. I think the tensioner is a must.
Yeah i had heard that too. Just was wondering if the IPS were created so that they would not cause the teeth on the tensioner's ratcheting mechanism to grind out and then cause the chain to lose slack
I'd contact either bboy burst, who has IPS K2's, or Jeff Giovino of Go-Power, who is probably the most knowledgeable person I know when it comes to cams. I can't recall ever reading of either IPS or Go-Power cams needing the chain tensioner, not that it would be a bad thing to have anyway. I do know that the Hybrid chain tensioner should eliminate any potential problems with the ratcheting mechanism if you do get the Skunk2 cams.
all aftermarket cams for our car wear out the tensioner. It is not just Skunk2. It was one of the main articles in one of the recent tuner mags i got.
OEM & IPS are known to have the least tensioner problem.

Also, IPS-K2 are well balanced, providing more usable power throughout the rpm.
