I was cleaning my engine today, and decided to clean under the intake manifold. I took it out and it looked as if some of the plastic underneath had actually melted a bit. Has anyone else seen this? Does anyone want to check their intake to see if this is happening on them too? I'm not sure how big of a deal this is, but any help is appreciated.

Chances are that they molded it out of a thermoset which would make it more resilient to the higher temperatures under the hood. I doubt that it melted. I'll go with BigT and say that it's just the way it's made.

LoL..thats not melted. That is how the part was blow molded. There's nothing wrong with the part.
Incubus is correct. That part is a thermoset and cannot melt. Thermosets will burn rather then melt.
