I have bought new fuses, I have bypassed my factory amp and even bought new wiring new harness for anything that took it. I have watched every single video I have read every discussion and I am at an absolute loss now ending bitter and silent after spending nearly 700 in parts and replacements. Please help me. What have I missed. 2008 honda civic ex coupe no navigation. All aftermarket parts no factory.
If I assume you ran new wiring to all speakers from the new HeadUnt and Amp.. most amps need a power wire, but also have another wire that causes the Amp to power up usually when the key is turned on or perhaps by a separate switch or wire lead form the Head Unit.
There are some post about that amp power wire not being part of aftermarket wire harness's, and suggestions on where to get the power from.
Now if you don't need that amp you by-passed I might be interested in it, mine is bad.
The new alpine should be wired up like the head unit with a power, ground ,rem etc . Then you run RCA red and white cables(like old tv cables) from the radio to the amp finally put the wires that go straight to your speakers into the alpine. What are you trying to power with the alpine? cuz if you try to run wires from it to a speaker that is already wired into the radio and factory amp setup I'm not sure if that will work. If you just are trying to power a sub or extra speakers that should be fine
If you want to basically get rid of your factory amp altogether in favor of the new alpine. Then you shouldn't need the bypass set up or old amp at all. I have a wire color diagram somewhere if you don't. There should be factory wires that run straight to your speakers from the original amp or via the bypass harness you can just hook them into the alpine.
I know I was able to find the wire that came direct from my tweeters and door speakers into the original amp I cut them and spliced them straight into my aftermarket radio. Because I was too impatient to wait on a amp bypass harness thing. The only problem was for some reasons the rear speakers I could not determine where the wires from them went into my amp I ended up running my own wire under the console to the trunk into the rear 2 speakers although with some more messing around I probably coulda figured out which ones they were under the dash
