Bought my FBP FA5 on May 7, so it's almost 6 month to the day since I signed for my car. It's at approximately 10k miles. At the time I was excited and loved the styling (and I still do to some extent), but I'm getting bored. 197 hp, 130ish ft-lb torque, and most of it is untap unless you vtec the crap out of it, everyday driving just isn't as fun anymore. Considering I went from a 2002 Jetta GLS with only 110 hp, I thought the Si would be more fun. Now I have had a taste of speed, I want more, more, and more! I think the turning point was when my buddy bought the new R32, with the sick styling, usable hp and torque at low rpm. Yes, I know it's 35k and I bought my Si for 22.6k (with navi), but it's just seems really slow now.
I was driving back to Seattle from SF earlier this week and I almost fell asleep when I was going 80 in 6th gear. I know it's a long drive, but I'm just not having as much fun driving it anymore. On uphills it seems like it struggles sometimes, which makes for a sad, depressing drive...There were a few instances in which I dropped it to 4th and punched it hoping it would have more ooomph, but not really...vtec doesn't do it for me anymore. :xyxnervou
Thoughts and suggestions for what I can do to fall in love with my Si again, as I'm paying for another 4 years and don't want to divorce it just yet. Or perhaps I should trade it in for something different in a couple of years. I'm making decent money, so anything below 40k is well within my price range.
