And so does MB, BMW but that's because those are luxury companies. Look at Toyota and Mazda, where is their RWD sedan? Also the CIVIC is a ecobox car, not really meant towards performance. However the Si just has some "performance spice" to it. Now the S2000 was made for performance. The S2000 is being replaced with some type of V6 coupe variable, which will suck. The Acura TSX might be going AWD...

 

I would agree with the ecobox comment back in the early 2000's. Now the fit seems to be taking that place. Think about how much bigger the civic has gotten. A RWD civic would be nice but wouldn't that also jack up the price?

 

If Honda made a RWD Si Sedan, I'd be on the waiting list the day it could be ordered.

Why would Honda ever make a RWD civic? It wouldn't be a civic then. A civic is Honda's answer to the FWD compact economy car bracket. The Si is their underpowered sport compact version.

Why don't you guys wish for other things that the civic will never get while you're at it.

I've gotta call you on that one. Comparing the FWD Civic Si Sedan and the RWD S2000 and I see that the S2K has a 2.7% weight advantage and a 17% power advantage. However, based upon your post, the Si should still beat the S2K by a reasonable margin. Yes, no?

FWIW, I'm thinking that a stock S2K will absolutely smoke a stock Si Sedan.

 

Honda should put a turret on the civic sedan. That way you could mount a crew serve weapon on there and clear the roads. You don't have to be fast when there's no one around to race.......

a rear wheel drive civic would be great how ever if you have a need for constant drifting or if you are on the drag constantly it would be ideal, the civic si is a complete autocross car it sits on a high rev for quick bursts of speed and with the front wheels pulling through a turn you have a greater jump out. and as for it being a eco box car thats completely out of the question....

Acura does not do it. All the Acura line up are either AWD or FWD, both which are FWD, with the exception of the RL, are the respective sedans. But I would still take SH-AWD over RWD anyway, and in the near future they are implementing that into the rest of their line-up. My next car may well be an Acura (hopefully).

really? you must have read one statistic and decided it was accurate. From my experience, the V6 EX-L 6spd Honda Accord is either as fast, or barely as fast, as the new Si.

 

The Si is the afterthought.

The eco-friendly normal civic is the main deal.

Plus you'd have to think of where the drive shaft would go, so the chassis would be different from normal Civic Sedans.

SH-AWD is front-biased, IIRC. Boo to that. If you're going AWD, may as well go with Mitubishi's. AYC!

 

i think id rather have the Audi R8/Lamborghini one. i think its a 15/85 default F/R, and only adds more power if the back looses traction.

Audi seems to be like Honda. All their cars seem to be FWD originally except for the R8.

i dont think it has anything to do with where they engine is. IIRC the G35x, FX45, and BMW's 328/335xi all have extremly extremly RWD bias setups..but unfortunatly those cars systems are really set up for snow traction not dry handling.

 

They're also really heavy and slow compared to their RWD counterparts..

 

the base models of the TT, A4, A6, and A8 are FWD.
the R8 is the only Audi chassis to never come in a FWD option.

I know but they still aren't FWD. He's kind of saying that the EX should be FWD and the Si having a different drivetrain application.
