Hi guys. I am heading up north in a couple of days and it rains a lot there. I have this cf hood and was wondering how I should go about covering up the vent. If anybody has any examples or ideas I'd greatly appreciate it. Apparently seibon does not make rainguards for this hood.

The cheapest thing would be to tape it shut. I would try vinyl wrapping the whole hood and covering up the holes. Just don't heat up the sections with holes and the durability of the vinyl should hold up. Might look a little tacky, but hey, it'll get the job done.

Why do you have a hole in your hood?

Its the hood vent. The two smaller holes are for latches.

Don't use duct tape or gorilla tape or anything like that.

Use a 2" wide painters tape and replace it every few days so it doesn't bond to your hood in the heating/cooling/thawing/freezing cycles.

Or better yet, just throw that ricey hood in the trash and put your stock hood back on.

I would put a stock hood on but I recently got in an accident and got this hood for cheap as temp

I was thinking of getting plexi glass and using it to block the vent and using rubber around it to block water from getting in.

I'd start shopping for a stock hood before you keep dumping money and effort into this one, if a stock hood is ultimately your goal.

The only aftermarket hood I like is the RR hood.

I wouldn't even worry about it unless you never let the engine get wet. If this is a daily driver my honest opinion is to get rid of that hood. Gaskets, seals, wires, metals... they don't age well when allowed to get wet repeatedly. Protecting it for one trip is insignificant.

Haha. Thanks guys. Basically what I did was cut out plexi glass to cover the vent and put weather strip rubber around it

So the neon underglow shines through?

It was easy to cut and cheap fr home depot. Lol. Then I just spray painted it black
