Alright guys. I feel like I've used up all my resources to figure this out, so I'm finally turning to the community for some guidance.
Here's the gist of it...
I own a 2011 Honda civic si with a k20z3 engine
I bought this car a little over a year ago already modded and I've taken on the responsibility of fixing someone else's mess. Love my car to death, but she's a mess
This car came supercharged with a Jackson Racing Supercharger, VIT Viper after cooler, surge tank for coolant, coolant pump, and intercooler.
At some point they added a 2.95in merc racing blower pulley, and I just replaced the old merc racing tensioner with the latest version. It's on the car but it hasn't been run
My smooth idler pulley went out on the last one and this was the beginning of a very long rabbit hole...
After replacing the tensioner and belt, the car still wouldn't start. We immediately determined the starter itself went out. In order for me to reach the starter, I had to remove the super charger and this led to me removing my whole coolant system.
Not entirely necessary but there's other things I'm taking care of just so I don't have to go through all this again
I've disassembled the supercharger. It was VERY dirty, but still mechanically solid. No grinding or wiggle room at all with the rotors. The oil was a healthy color and not thinned out at all.
This gives me reason to believe the supercharger and aftercooler system just need some TLC, and it'll be a solid piece of machinery again.
With all of this being said, I'm heavily debating making the car NA and selling everything I listed above. I would love to keep the supercharger (still debating it), but the uninstall was an absolute nightmare
With ALL of this being said, does anyone have any idea what something like that would be worth?
Does anyone think it's a better idea to keep the supercharger??
Am I batshit crazy for tackling this???
I would love any and all feedback.
If I sold the supercharger, all the money would just go back into the car addressing other issues or fine tuning
Thank you 🙏. I hope I can find some answers here
