Any time you reduce the shift throw, the effort to shift will become proportionally harder. This is true of any short shifter. If the design is such that there is a lot of friction, it will make things harder.

Our bushings make shifting slightly easier because the spherical bearing removes the compliance in the OEM rubber bushings that you would normally have to work against. However, it's likely that they will not reduce shift effort so much as to fully compensate by the extra effort your short shifter is requiring.

Worked out great. Did your bushings (both sets) teamed with a short shifter and switched to red line MTL. The difference is unbelievable. No hint of third gear problems what so ever. All the vagueness is gone, its so much more positive now. Actually a pleasure to go through the gears. Awesome products guys, really top notch.

Very true. I installed my TWM short shifter and was slightly disappointed with the effort that it took to get into gear, even with their TypeR shift knob. Luckily I bought the HR cable bushings the at the same time and within 30 minutes I had shifting as smooth as butter. I definitely recommend the cable bushings. I never noticed a difference in the base bushings however. Maybe thats just me. I have the gold cable bushings and they really pop in the engine bay.

One thing to note on the install, the bushing that is installed vertically is a pain to get in place. I probably shouldnt have done this, but I took a hammer to a waded up shirt and got the thing on there. No damage was done, and they work great months after the install.

Definitely a great buy.

All my gears were really notchy. I ordered both sets of bushings hoping it would decrease or remove the notchiness. i just did my trans with syncromesh and seemed to help out a lot. Whats the maintenance on these bushings? Ex: replace every 30k miles etc.

They are designed to be maintenance free. Set it and forget it. We have been selling our cables and bushings for nearly 5 years and have not seen any instance of age/wear related failure at the bushings or bearings.
