Hi guys I need help I got a misfire on cylinder 3 and when I checked under the hood after the check engine light come on the nut that retain the coil on cylinder 3 unscrewed while I was driving. I put it back together with another nut that was at my mechanic school and the misfire was still there but I had to go home (~15km). When I got home I switched the coil 3 with the cylinder 2: still the misfire in 3 and same for the sparkplug. So I decided to take out the injector rail to see if an injector seal was broken and I saw that the rail close the cylinder 3 had some rust compared to the other but it didn’t look like it had a leak. I switched the injector 3 with the 2 and I putted back the injector rail and I have now a cylinder 2-3 misfire. After I took out the injector plug to see if I could hear something changing in the sound and there was no difference so I checked to see if the connector in the wiring harness was good and the ground didn’t worked on the one of cylinder 2-3. Anybody had this happened to them? I’m confuse because it all started with the coil detach from the engine so no spark but fuel in the combustion chamber so I tought maybe the cylinder outline was covered in gas so it didn’t had good compression but now the ground in the injector connector is broke at the same time the coil nut went off is kinda weird. And when I switched the 2-3 injector the two are now misfiring. Any help would be appreciated!!

Update: I checked with a multimeter the injector plug from the harness and they all got good courant but the one from cylinder 2 and 3 don’t have the pulsation from the ecu so negatif on the 2 and 3 doesn’t work and after I checked if the wiring harness for the injector got the proper ohm and they are good so now I’ve come to the conclusion that my ecu is not working properly and it’s not giving the pulse for the injector to give gaz in the combustion chamber. Am I missing something or that would make sense? I’m thinking about buying an ecu from a junkyard but idk if I need to have the key does someone know if you need it? Also I forgot to say that the injector from the initial misfire is at low ohm compared to the other’s (about 106 ohm and the other’s are at 114 ohm but I’m maybe forgetting a , in the number) but from what my mechanic uncle said it doesn’t really matter and sorry if I made a lot of English fault I’m French so I don’t write in English often.

Sounds like injectors to me. Swap the 2 and 3 injectors with 1 and 4 and see if it follows. Maybe get your injectors cleaned? I have a used set of injectors for a 06 si for really cheap. If you've done any recent mods to your car like a lightweight flywheel or lightweight crank pully those can cause misfires which happend to me when I put my lightweight flywheel and crank pully on I kept getting a misfire on all 4 cylinders and took 6 months to figure out it that's with the 8th gen si it's a common issue that these lightweight flywheel and crank pulleys cause false misfires. Talk about pulling your hair out lol. I changed everything and it would go away, I'm talking plugs, coils, compression test, leak down test, New battery which I needed anyways new injectors and the issue wouldn't go away lol and then found out that 8th gens are known to read false misfires if you throw certain parts on. Anyways if you want a set of used injectors let me know. They were working great when I took them off because I upgraded to bigger injectors as stock was way too small.

Get a Hybrid Racing fuel rail, new spark plugs, & new RDX 410cc fuel injectors.

(If tuned on FP.)

See if the fuel pump is working.
Replace the fuel filter.
Buy a thick ground, and attach it to the engine mount.

The system looks old.

Good luck.

Drive safely, not enough fuel in 1 - 2 cylinders, can cause detonation issues, if there's a lack of cold fuel, entering the combustion chamber.
