BTW, this question is directed towards the manual transmission. Specifically the Si.

I was wondering if this was possible and/or a good idea. Would you be able to just stick a strong, round, flat magnet at the end of the drain plug? Just a thought.

Some of my concerns would be the magnet dissolving away in the tranny. Or the extra length due to the magnet, protrurding and touching the internals.

I'm not certain what magnets are made of or if there are different "magnetic grades" that would withstand high temps.

Better yet, just point me in the direction as to where I can buy one

Just buy them because they're not that expensive. I bought my Spoon magnetic drain plugs at my local stealership & they were only like $40 for the oil & tranny plug. Have you tried asking one of our vendors about this?
