HFP 17'' wheels weigh 20 lbs

For those who care about such things. I weighed them 3 different places. When I weighed them at UPS I was surprised when it said 24.3 lbs since I got 20 lbs on my home scale. Then I took them to the Post Office and got the same thing. Hmm, that seems heavy so I took them out of the box and weighed the box. The box weighs 4.2 lbs, a lot more than I would expect. So 20 lbs it is. I do not know what the stock wheels on the EX coupe weigh but I am guessing a few lbs less, maybe 18-19.

The offset listed on the back is 45 ( I assume this is 45mm). I picked them up yesterday from the dealership. They won't go on though until Spring because I want to keep the stock 16's as winter wheels and use the 17's with a nice summer tire. I think they will look sharp on our Atomic Blue Coupe, like the College Hills pics with no underbody kits.

Edit: Should have stated that at home I weighed them out of the box. Stepped on the scale got my weight, then stepped back on holding the wheel (wifes idea).

Nope, those are the optional 17's for the Coupe, not the 18's for the Si.
17" HFP wheels look just like the 18s, just smaller.

Still want to know the weight of a stock Si wheel...
I really like the 17" HFP wheels. If I have enough money I'll look into getting them this summer with some nice sticky tires.
So if HFP 17's are around 20 lbs, then the 18's maybe around 23 lbs. But , yes what is the rim weight on the SI 17's? Anyone???
By the way the 17'' HFP wheels for the 2006 Civic are made by Enkei. Enkei is stamped on the back of the wheel. I would assume this is the case for 18's as well. 20 lbs is not the lightest 17'' wheel there is but it is also not the heaviest so not bad for a factory wheel.
So its most likely lighter than the stock 17's on the Si
I measured my stock SI wheels w/ tires. (17 inch and summer tires)

Wheels and Tires: 43.5 lbs
Tires (Exalto PE2): 22lbs; according to Tire rack
Therefore the Stock SI wheels weigh 21.5lbs.

Thanks for the weight, 20si06!! I have been begging around for that number for a while.
Thansk for the update on wheel weights. Will keep it mind when deciding to go out and spend money on rims
Well, now there is some conflicting information on the stock weight. Vanuen at 8thgen weighed his stock rim only and it weighed 26lbs. That sounds kind of heavy to me, however.
enkei makes all the rims of civic my ex coupe 16" stock rims have the enkei stamp in the back so my guess enkei makes all the honda wheels
some scales are very inaccurate under say 50lbs. The best way to do it is to weigh yourself first. Then weight yourself holding the rim. Subtract the difference, and see what you come up with.
re;17" HFP-R7 Factory Performance Alloy Wheel

Thanks for the weight info. Just wish I knew how much the stock 16's are. No one at Honda seems to know.

I went with the 17" HFP-R7 Factory Performance Alloy Wheel for my 2006 Civic EX because;

They match the Galaxy Gray on my car perfectly.

I didn't have to worry about wheel offset when ordering from a 3rd party.

Honda also provides the tire spec of P215/45R17.

Keeps my Honda Care warranty valid.

Welcome to the site 1stcivic. Congrats on your new Civic!! Some good points you've listed. Post up some pics when you get the chance.
17" HFP's

If your have a Galaxy Grey Metallic 2006 Civic these are a perfect match, exactly the same color.

You can tell from the picture that I’m new to posting pictures. I had to resize in paint and this is how it turned out with the bottom cut off a little.

Can’t wait for the good weather so I can put these on along with the 215/45YR-17 Goodyear Eagle’s F1 GS-D3 XL.

I weighed my stock Si rim in at about 23.3lbs. Weighing it while holding it is great advice, will try that when I get home tonight.
