What are the potential harms and dangers of my rim with this happening to it???
Should I be driving around on it?

And how would I go about fixing it? Would it be better to just go swoop up some new rims??

it's drivable but 1: the crack will get bigger 2: it's more likely to bend 3: it'll break eventually 4: lets hope it doesn't break while your on the highway doing 70.

Is that a crack in the metal or just a crack in the finish? If that thing is polished and not chromed, then...

...he's pretty much right. You need to take that thing to a wheel refurb shop ASAP. Let them work their magic. Or just buy a new wheel if that's cheaper.
