Man sorry to hear that! And it's a FBP too This is definitely accident month for people around me - my friend had his laptop stolen from his trunk in Chiliwack (thief must have scored by chance as he couldn't have followed him out from Vancouver), his 1st loaner car gets rear ended and totalled, and in the second one a lady pulls to the right and decides to take a left into him without shoulder checking. Ouch!

The worst thing is that it's an insurance. I don't think her insurance will go up as the rental company will take the hit - as long as she has a damage waiver i guess - Where are they from? I don't understand why canada lets people driving on other sides of the road e.g. UK and Australia to rent cars here and drive with an international license without any testing whatsoever.

If there's one thing I know it's that unless there is significant witness / photoes that change the story she will be at fault because it's your lane. She didn't shoulder check (she can't prove otherwise), it wasn't her lane (she can't prove otherwise). As long as the damage agrees with your story. The best thing is still to search for witnesses I guess =\, best of luck and keep us updated!
