Hey all.

I need to get CARB ready as I plan on relocating in the near future. I'm currently running a CTE and know the basics on exhaust work and what not but have questions on the CTE intake build itself.

I currently have the following "add-ons":

  • J37/ZDX throttle body
  • P2R Thermal throttle body gasket
  • Vittuned big bore inlet
  • Vittuned big bore adapter plate
I'm assuming the big bore inlet will not be allowed, correct?

If that is the case, am I able to keep the J37/ZDX throttle body after I put the original inlet back on AND if I do is that CARB legal?

Thanks.

I don't have any direct experience with CARB but I've been doing some research into the subject as well.

When you go through emissions in CA you'll need to pass the visual inspection, anything that's not stock you'll need an EO# for. My understanding is they really only look at the big ticket items, supercharger, cold air intake, and exhaust. I don't think you'll have a problem with the throttle body but you'll definitely need an EO# for the cold air intake. You'll also need to keep any emissions control items so PCV valve and EVAP hose.

Take a look at the EO document for the CTE kit, it might have some information that will help.
