Can't be the tune. I've had Etunez Dan take a look at it, a while back. Nothing in the tune or on the car has changed.

The "neutral" zone between acceleration on the gear, and deceleration on the gear feels mechanical, and not MAP tune related.

Possibly, but it was never as bad as it is now.

When I first bought the car, all gears felt positively engaged 100% of the time, regardless of speed or throttle input.

The tranny has had 1st-5th replaced at 53k, and 2nd replaced again at ~78k. Car now has 92k.
But even at 78k when 2nd was replaced, the tranny was inspected, and no other signs of wear could be seen.

I've pretty much narrowed it down to: worn gears (again?), worn FD, worn LSD, or worn/broken LCA bushings. I just can't be sure which. (Hence the reason I asked if anyone having this very issue has had it resolved, even minimally, by going with a spherical LCA bushing)

Well let me know if you do ever get it resolved, I'm really curious. My car's only a year old (2010), and I remember feeling that bucking and thinking "WTF" when I drove the car home from the dealership. So it's been there since day one for me, with a brand-new from the factory car.

Geoff, can you elaborate on the seals? Would we have to send the traction balls back to you, or is it just something we snap on ourselves? I'd like to get those since my installer says he has had nothing but problems with this kinds of traction balls getting sand and dirt in them.

I don't wanna derail the thread anymore, thanks for the offer though! I don't think there's any fix other than a new tranny, I've heard other people on here describe the same issue. I never thought anything of it until I heard others complaining about it.

It really is not a big issue, only happens at light throttle in the lowest gears. I rarely drive like that anyways. I only mentioned something because someone else brought it up, and I try to chime in whenever I catch someone else mention it, since I experience the same thing and am just curious about it, if there really is any resolution.

As far as this thread goes, the question was will these traction balls resolve the issue, and I think the answer is no. Good enough for me, I'm curious if anyone who DOES have the issue ever gets is resolved, but there's no need to discuss it further here unless Full Race doesn't mind their thread getting hijacked :)

well double check the installation man, hate to sound like a **** but I had that stupid bucking and decided to finally overlook everything under the bay. as soon as I opened the hood I noticed the bolts backed out on the passenger side of my stock mount.

go to civic si subsection and see I made a thread.

that's exactly where it happened to me, I'm telling you go over the bolts and stuff on the mounts that problem is a mount issue.

as for hijacking, here is where the conversation is so here is where the reply will be. Who cares, free bumpage for full race.

LOL true that about the free bumping. I'll double-check the mount, but the issue existed long before I had the Hasports, and the installation of the Hasports made no difference as it still existed afterwards. It hasn't gotten worse over time, its just always been there.

BTW I love the Hasports. I didn't buy them to fix that issue, and I don't want this discuss to dissuade people from buying them! They're freaking awesome mounts!

Hmm... Good info, I'll look into it... Matter of fact, RIGHT NAOW. lol

(Don't think it'll work though, but I'll report back in a NEW THREAD if it does - I'll drop the link here ofc.)

Last I'll make mention of this in this thread, ...

... Chris and my issue IS NOT related to the motor mounts.

I checked every motor mount, and everything was how it should be. However, when I moved each front wheel, with the car in neutral, I did however feel a decent gap (or "play") between moving the wheel forwards and backwards. Which makes me think me and Chris' issue is transmission related.

:eek:fftopic:
