Hey all! Just wondering if anyone could help me or give instructions to fixing my b pillar post trim on my 4 door sedan. It’s coming off bad, not just the pillars but the trim above the window on the doors as well. If anyone has suggestions, or if anyone could tell me how to take this off so I could fix it would be great. Thanks!

I ordered some black vinyl and put it on the B pillars. You can peel your faded b pillar vinyl off and get the OEM vinyl but it is a huge pain to peel the OEM stuff. The vinyl I got from Amazon was already precut so I just had to stick it on and you can't tell it is not OEM. For the trim above the windows on the top of the doors I just got some Mugen style vent visors and that went over the top of the faded and cracked trim.

Yep, Honda sells the trim tape kit for each door. About $15-20/door. I did all 4 of my doors last summer and it wasn't easy but it turned out nice. You have to remove all 4 belt moldings, the rear door windows and quarter windows along with the rubber moldings.

When applying the new trim tape I wet the tape and door so that I could slide it into place.

how did you remove all of that exactly? The b pillar trim seems to throw me off the most. Also... did you say remove the windows? Like the actual glass?
I also wonder if it would be better to get the tape, or to just do some quality vinyl considering so many civics out there have this problem. How is the tape holding up and how long has it been?

I was going to get those window visors. Do they totally hide the trim above the windows? If so, that might give me one less thing to worry about

Yep, the glass has to come out because the tape is tucked behind the moldings (which require the glass out of the way to remove) and the only way to get it 100% factory is removing the glass and a bunch of other trim. Not for the light hearted for sure.

It's only been about a year but I don't see why it wouldn't last as long as the original trim did.

No wonder the dealership wanted $200 to do a door. That’s tedious. Might have to wait for the summer to hit so college is out of the way to do that job.
