Any of you guys ever have a problem getting into first? Sometimes i'm sitting at a light, then when it turns green and I go the first gear won't go in and i have to shift into second then up to first.. just wondering if anyone else experiences this.

Yea, especially when your on a hill and the **** **** behind you is too close to let you get your roll on

i have the same problem once in while also... what i do is put it back to N then put it back to 1st...and now that i am at about 3k miles.... i been hitting the 3rd gear wall...when i bought the car brand new...it wasn't like.... shetty ass tranny!!!! but yeah i think it's normal... my friend used to have an srt-4 and it happens to him once in a while also....

i read somewhere (ill try and find the article) that you should never go directly to first after your stopped. Say you slowed from 40 while in 3rd gear and u brake to a stop and you immediately go to neutral. The article said that to help extend transmission life you should go to second then first after sitting in neutral

it happens to me once in awhile, put it in second to first or let out the clutch and push the clutch back in and put it in first.... also, i've been hittin the third wall lately and had problems with my second gear grind a while ago and my reverse wouldnt go in sometimes...

i have no busher or base upgrades.. all stock shifter componets except a knob which wouldn't do anything, i've also been hitting the "3rd gear wall" lately also, 17k miles on the car. sucks.

I have this problem when stopping and going from neutral to first. I usually try putting it in second then first with no help. So usually I have to give it a little gentle persuasion to get into first. I need to make an appointment with Honda.

it used to be a common issue on older civic 5 speeds...

it would be hard to get it into first from a dead stop. double clutching, or shifting into 2nd, then first made it a lot easier

Damn, I thought I wad the only one!! Chalked it up to driver error initially, thought I might be imagining things.....my FA5 is in for TSB front suspension work, and this issue too. Here's to hoping it gets resolved........:popcorn:
