I have an 07 Si. I was looking into buying a system either JL Audio or Kicker but the estimate that i got for $1000 is not something i'm looking foward to. So as a quick alternative I thought about swapping the factory subwoofer for an 8" JL/Kicker I was wondering if it will interfere with the Stock Head unit and the sub control that it offers.

Also while putting the new sub i was wondering if i put a seperate amp just dedicated to the new 8" sub would 500 over do it or shouldi stick to a 200 amp one.

You will need an aftermarket amp if you choose to replace the 8" free air sub. Here is what someone on here replaced their's with:

Personally, I am going to put a single 10" woofer in a sealed box, and simply unhook the 8" stock one.
