Ever notice how the si weights alot more then the other models.
and there like no major diffrences between the cars, except the engine and lsd.
Do those parts weight SOOO much more then the normals civics?
Id think the Si engine would be made with light weight parts just to make it faster.
Im confused?!?!
were talking like 300 lbs to the dx, and like 250 with the lx and 176 with the ex?!?!

It's a bunch of little things that add up - engine (larger overall size plus heavier intake and exhaust manifolds), tranny, lsd, stabilizer bars, bigger wheels, bigger brakes, and the list goes on.

Don't forget the weight added over time by the progressive update of safety features. Lol, have you seen the inflated airbag pics for the Civic? Looks like the whole side of the passenger compartment is air-filled baggies.
