Hello,
I have a 08 Civic Ex coupe 5 speed that was stolen and wrecked. The motor is still good. Still runs and lot drives (bent frame) I found and bought another 07 Civic EX coupe 5 speed that has a bad motor (knocking in lower part of engine)
Question: Am I going to run into any problems with the chipped ignition key when swapping motors? Drivers side aid bag deployed on my 08 all the side curtains and passenger side did not deploy. Is there any modules that will not recognize newer motor in older car body due to Honda security or chipped key?

Thanks in advance

I put a 2011 engine in my 2008 with no issues. If you just replace the engine and not the wiring harness, computers, etc the car won't know the difference.

Only true if the sensors/actuators are the same. Some years the sensor voltages changed and as a result there is some incompatibility

What sensors? Both of the engines he has have everything so it doesn't matter. He can swap stuff around as needed.
