I own a 08 black si coupe, stock, and for some reason, whenever i turn on my engine in the morning or after like 5 hours of not driving it, my engine idles around 1.6-1.8k

my friends told me it was a lemon and i should bring it into dealer, but after about 3 to 4 minutes it idles down to normalish of 800-1200

i live in southern cali by the way, so it has nothing to do with freezing temperatures, nor do i run my engine hard. i drive quite moderately

anyone else with the 08 si experiencing this?

My car idles at like 2.5k-3k every morning until it gets up to temp than its usually about 700.

It is normal. Been discussed here several times for all year models (06+).

Yea! This is NORMAL. The car is warming up. Be easy on it until you get to 3-4 bars on the heat meter.

i let my car idle for 5 mins.......and it gets mad at me.....and locks the steering

any ideas why ?
