I never been able to pull over 30 miles a gallon with driving mostly freeway I have 7k on the car so it is broken in. My question is to get to my house I have to go up this one hill every day pretty steep incline maybe about a quater of a mile maybe more. I go up it about 30 miles and about 2500 to 3000 rpm. I go about 30 mile trip and come up that hill do yo think thats what is preventing me from passing the 30 mpg mark

More load and % throttle given, more gas is used. Uphill = more load, more throttle to maintain same speed = more gas. Short period probably wouldn't affect too much overall avg.

HAhaha. I have the same problem. -.- So is it really true that we'd be able to save more gas if we get up the dam thing faster than going really slow and taking a longer time?

get upto speed if possible and try to maintain speed but let it bleed off slowly as you make your way to the top. accelerating is more efficient on downhills than up
